Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has filed a lawsuit against former Trump White House aide Garrett Ziegler over the publication of private photos, emails, and other materials that were allegedly obtained from a hard drive belonging to Hunter Biden. This lawsuit is part of a larger strategy by Hunter Biden’s legal team to take legal action against those they believe are instigating unwarranted attacks on him.

Garrett Ziegler has been actively involved in bringing attention to Hunter Biden’s past, particularly through a website dedicated to exposing elements of Hunter Biden’s life. The website contains various materials, including photos, text messages, emails, and documents purportedly from the president’s son.

In the 13-page lawsuit, Hunter Biden’s lawyers argue that Ziegler and others violated federal and California privacy laws by accessing and manipulating computer data from Hunter Biden’s devices without consent. The lawsuit claims that Ziegler hacked into encrypted data on Hunter Biden’s devices and uploaded them to his website without authorization. Despite requests to cease their activities and return the private data, the defendants have allegedly refused to comply.

Ziegler responded to the lawsuit, stating that he and his nonprofit organization, Marco Polo, have not been served with a lawsuit. He also criticized the lawsuit, calling it a SLAPP suit, referring to a strategic lawsuit against public participation. Ziegler believes that the lawsuit is an attempt to chill free speech and petition rights.

Earlier this year, Hunter Biden sued John Paul Mac Isaac, a Delaware-based computer repairman, for invasion of privacy. Mac Isaac allegedly accessed and distributed Biden’s private computer data in 2019. Hunter Biden’s attorneys also requested that the Justice Department investigate Mac Isaac, Ziegler, and others for violating Delaware laws. Mac Isaac claimed that he obtained the information from Hunter Biden’s laptop legally and considered it abandoned after waiting 90 days for Biden to claim it.

In his latest lawsuit, Hunter Biden is seeking a jury trial, damages, an injunction to prevent access or tampering with his data, and the return of any unlawfully obtained materials. The lawsuit is part of a larger effort by Hunter Biden’s legal team to protect his privacy and hold those responsible for the unauthorized dissemination of his personal information accountable.
