This article discusses the transformation and development of the botanical garden at Khmelnytskyi National University in Ukraine. The area that now houses the botanical garden was formerly farmland, trading areas, and dumpsters over 20 years ago. The garden was established as part of a comprehensive development program for the institution (then the Podillya Technological University) for 2002-2006. The garden has various sections, such as the Japanese garden, the Country of Knowledge, and the Museum of Living Nature, which are home to a variety of species. The botanical garden also has a collection of 101 plants listed in the Red Books — international, national, or regional registers of endangered species. The garden serves as a “living lab” for researchers from diverse fields.
