Rescue Operation After Bridge Collapse Yields Two Victims

Two missing workers from the Francis Scott Key bridge collapse have been found, according to the head of the Maryland State Police, Col. Roland L. Butler Jr.

The missing workers were discovered around 10 a.m. ET, within a red pickup truck submerged in about 25 feet of water.

“Divers recovered two victims of this tragedy trapped within the vehicle,” Butler said.

Butler confirmed that the families of those found have been notified. The deceased workers have been identified as Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes from Mexico and Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera from Guatemala.

At the time of the accident, the workers, from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, were engaged in pothole repairs on the bridge.

Both men, who were employees of a construction company, were identified – one through a driver’s license found in his pocket and the other through fingerprint analysis.
