Attendance rates at Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and Malibu schools have started to recover following recent inclement weather. Despite ongoing rain, 82% of LAUSD students attended school on Tuesday and over 93% of teachers were present, which shows a significant increase from the 63% attendance rate on Monday. Previously closed schools, except Topanga Elementary Charter School, also opened on Tuesday. Malibu schools in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, closed on Monday and Tuesday due to mud and rock flows, are set to reopen on Wednesday. Some California State University campuses and Long Beach City College have also resumed normal operations.
