East Lansdowne, Pennsylvania Shooting and Fire Incident

Two officers were injured in a shooting, and a residential fire broke out in East Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, according to officials.

The officers were responding to a report of an 11-year-old girl shot on Baltimore Pike and Lewis Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, as per Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer.

The officers arrived on the scene, and a shooter in a neighboring house opened fire immediately.

The injured officers were rushed to the hospital and are believed to be in stable condition, stated Stollsteimer.

Further police presence resulted in the house catching fire. SkyForce10 captured smoke and flames rising from the home, with SWAT teams and additional officers surrounding the property.

Stollsteimer expressed uncertainty regarding the shooter’s presence inside the burning home.

He said, “We can’t enter the house at this point. The house has been ablaze for some time. Our primary concern is containing the fire safely. Once done, we’ll proceed to investigate the incident inside.”

Stollsteimer also intimated the initial report of the 11-year-old girl being shot might not be accurate.
