Mayor appoints Jay Zeidman as Chairman of Houston First Corporation

Houston Mayor John Whitmire has appointed venture capital executive Jay Zeidman as the new Board Chairman of the Houston First Corporation, following the resignation of outgoing Chairman David Mincberg. Zeidman, co-founder, and managing partner of Altitude Ventures brings professional experience from serving in President George W. Bush’s administration and as Director of Business Development for U.S. Capital Advisors. Houston First, a local government corporation promoting the city for tourism and conventions, led the post-pandemic recovery of the travel and hospitality sector in the region under Mincberg’s leadership. Zeidman’s appointment is pending City Council approval.
