Queens of the Stone Age are back with their latest LP, “In Times New Roman…,” released in June 2023. The band has been active since 1996 and is one of the last arena rock bands. The group’s longevity is attributed to their authenticity and persistence, with bassist Michael Shuman stating that their success comes from staying true to themselves and the music they love. Despite numerous hurdles during the making of the album, including a cancer scare and the loss of band member Mark Lanegan, the band has emerged stronger. Shuman also expresses his concerns about the future of the music industry, especially for young artists due to the shift towards digital platforms and the lack of focus on artist development by major record labels.
