Spiritual leader and Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has commended the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon’s surface. Shankar praised ISRO for achieving this mission in a short duration and with a small budget. Speaking at a media event in Washington DC during the World Culture Festival, Shankar expressed pride not only for India but for the entire humanity, highlighting that even Hollywood or Bollywood couldn’t have achieved such a feat. He also revealed that he had spoken to ISRO chief S Somnath a day before the landing, assuring him that everything would go well.

The three-day World Culture Festival, hosted by the Art of Living founder and Washington DC mayor Muriel Bowser, will take place from September 29 to October 1 at the National Mall. Shankar emphasized the significant role of women power in the Chandrayaan mission and referred to the emotional moment of India landing on the Moon and receiving pictures from the lunar surface.

ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3’s Lander Module (LM) successfully touched down on the Moon’s surface on August 23, making India the fourth country to achieve this feat and the first to reach the uncharted south pole of the Moon. ISRO recently announced that India’s first solar mission, Aditya-L1, aimed at studying the Sun, will be launched on September 2 from the Sriharikota spaceport.

When asked about the Aditya-L1 mission, Shankar expressed confidence in its success, drawing a parallel to the Chandrayaan mission. Former ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair also commented on the significance of the Aditya-L1 mission, stating that it is a logical step following the Chandrayaan mission to further study the Sun and its various phenomena.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a renowned spiritual leader and the founder of the Art of Living. He has been actively involved in promoting peace, spirituality, and human values worldwide. Shankar’s praise for ISRO’s achievement in the Chandrayaan-3 mission highlights the significance of India’s space exploration endeavors and their global impact.
