Northern Michigan Students Return to School in Missaukee County
Lake City Area Schools in Missaukee County, Michigan, have already begun the new academic year, with students returning to the classroom on Monday. The district decided to start earlier than usual, and they are optimistic about the upcoming school year.

In terms of school security, Lake City Area Schools has employed a school resource officer who will patrol the premises. However, the district believes that the best security measure is creating a sense of belonging and connection among students. Superintendent Hejnal believes that if students have strong relationships with staff members and fellow students, it serves as a safeguard against incidents involving their own peers.
