Subaru of America, Inc. and Make-A-Wish® have partnered for a “Week of Wishes” initiative, an extension of their long-standing partnership, to surprise children with critical illnesses across the country. Local Subaru showrooms hosted celebrations to grant the wishes of these children. Subaru and its retailers have donated over $32 million, helping to grant more than 3,300 wishes through their annual Subaru Share the Love® Event. The partnership with Make-A-Wish has enabled Subaru to provide hope and strength to children fighting critical illnesses.

According to Make-A-Wish, approximately 27,000 children are diagnosed with a critical illness each year, and research shows that granting wishes can improve their quality of life and health outcomes. Leslie Motter, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America, expressed gratitude for Subaru’s continued support in creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Throughout the “Week of Wishes,” several surprise events were held across the country. Quality Subaru in Wallingford, CT, hosted a cheer-themed celebration for 12-year-old Chloe, who suffers from a blood disorder. The event featured local cheer teams performing stunts, giving Chloe and her family a sneak peek of her upcoming cheer cave basement makeover.

Garcia Subaru North in Albuquerque, NM, surprised 13-year-old Alejandro, who has a malignant brain tumor and is losing his vision, with a red-carpet surprise party and a shopping spree at a local mall. Wakefield Subaru in Wakefield, MA, hosted a New York City-themed welcome home party for 18-year-old Sofia, who had her wish to travel to New York City granted. AutoNation Subaru Hilton Head in Hilton Head, NC, hosted a beach-themed send-off party for 4-year-old Lillian, who wished to play in the sunshine on St. Johns Island. Autobarn Subaru of Countryside in Chicago, IL, threw a gaming-themed bash for 14-year-old Goel, who recently underwent a heart transplant and wished for a gaming system.

Other Subaru retailers, including Bill Kolb Jr. Subaru, Subaru of Cherry Hill, Subaru of Moon Township, Hendrick Subaru, Peoria Subaru, Scoggin-Dickey Subaru, and Capitol Subaru, also hosted surprise “Week of Wishes” events for local wish children.

The “Week of Wishes” is part of Subaru Loves to Care, the health-focused philanthropic pillar of Subaru’s Love Promise vision. Through the Love Promise, Subaru and its employees have donated over $300 million to causes they care about.
