Head Coach Kelly Amonte Hiller has announced the 42 players selected for the 2024 U.S. Women’s U20 Training Team after a rigorous three-day tryout process. The tryouts, held at USA Lacrosse headquarters, featured nearly 100 of the country’s top women’s lacrosse players. Amonte Hiller expressed her excitement about the talent and passion displayed throughout the weekend, stating that the selected players form a strong group for the journey to the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship in Hong Kong, China next summer.

The 42 players chosen for the training team represent high schools from 12 different states, the District of Columbia, and 20 colleges. These players will reconvene at USA Lacrosse in August for a training camp before competing at the USA Lacrosse Fall Classic in October. The final roster for the championship in Hong Kong will be determined after these events.

The World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship was previously a U19 event, but the age group was raised to U20 after the 2019 championship in Peterborough, Ontario. Amonte Hiller, who was the head coach for the 2019 team, led the U.S. to its fifth gold medal in the event. The United States has a successful history in the championship, winning in 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011, and 2019. Australia won the inaugural championship in 1995, while Canada emerged as the champion in 2015, with the U.S. finishing as the runner-up in both instances.

The U.S. women’s national teams are supported by various sponsors and use top-notch products for their training and games. Nike Lacrosse provides apparel and footwear, Enovis (formerly DJO) supplies sports bracing, and Cascade/Maverik, Gait Lacrosse, and STX offer high-performance equipment. Gatorade, MedStar Health, National Center for Safety Initiatives, Stryker, and Athletic Republic are also official sponsors of the U.S. national team program.

The 42 players selected for the 2024 U.S. Women’s U20 Training Team have been named. These players come from various high schools and colleges across the country and will undergo further training before competing at the USA Lacrosse Fall Classic in October. The final roster for the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship in Hong Kong, China will be determined following these events.
