Chicago fire in Lakeview today: Blaze struck out at apartment building on Wellington near Broadway; no injuries reported, CFD says


The Chicago Fire Department responded to a significant fire in the city’s Lakeview neighborhood, which started around 5:15 p.m. on the rear porches of a three-story residential building. The fire was under control by approximately 5:35 p.m. Residents, including Angela Woodall and Adam Horness, were able to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported. The Fire Department has not disclosed how many people were displaced as a result of the incident. Fire crews tackled the blaze both externally and internally to minimize damage to the building and other units.
