Biden says Navalny’s reported death brings new Ukraine urgency

President Joe Biden has called for urgency in providing billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine following the suspected death of Russian anti-corruption activist Alexei Navalny. Biden said he held Russian President Vladimir Putin responsible for Navalny’s death and criticized U.S. lawmakers for not acting swiftly to approve aid for Ukraine. Despite the Senate passing a bill to send funds and weapons to Ukraine, the House has yet to take it up. Biden also condemned House Republicans for entering a two-week recess without addressing the funding issue. Republican Speaker Mike Johnson said that while the House will not rush to pass the aid, it is clear that Putin must face united opposition.
