Individual connected to recent shots fired on Main Campus arrested

A 15-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly firing a gun twice during a gathering near Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue in Philadelphia on February 10. The boy’s arrest was announced by Jennifer Griffin, vice president of public safety, who praised the community for providing video footage, photos, and other tips that assisted in the investigation. Griffin also informed the public that a new “meet-up” event promoted on social media for February 17 is being monitored by the Temple Public Safety and Philadelphia Police Department. The initial gathering, which lasted three hours, reportedly had several fights and two gunshots allegedly fired by the arrested individual. Seven juveniles were cited for disorderly conduct the following morning.
