In Khmelnytsky Lyceum №1 named after V. Krasitsky, students are growing microgreens as part of the youth education project “Smart City,” initiated in Ukraine by the Continental company and supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine, two international breeding companies, and a Ukrainian manufacturer of biological plant protection products. The students grow microgreens on a shelf with automatic watering and lighting, sell the crops, and allocate part of the profits to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, emphasizing the project’s social responsibility. The program also promotes the culture of healthy eating as microgreens lower cholesterol levels, cleanse the body, strengthen the immune system, and provide energy. The school has already generated profits, motivating further involvement in the project. The initiative represents the goals of the New Ukrainian School, which aims to provide education closely related to real life.
