The Disappearance of Elijah Vue: Latest Update

Prosecutors provided new insights into the events leading to the disappearance of 3-year-old Elijah Vue in Wisconsin. Katrina Baur, Elijah’s mother, now faces additional charges related to the case. Her request for bond reduction was denied due to emerging evidence about Elijah’s activities prior to his disappearance.

Elijah vanished from a Two Rivers residence on Feb. 20. Prosecutors say that Baur sent him there to stay with her boyfriend, to “become a man.” Despite extensive searches by police and locals, Elijah remains missing, and the reward for information has reached $25,000.

Court statements indicate that on Feb. 16, Baur and her boyfriend, Jesse Vang, left Elijah alone for at least an hour while they traveled around Manitowoc, according to WLUK-TV. Baur also allegedly left a 6-year-old child in a vehicle in below freezing temperatures for approximately an hour.

During the hearing, Baur’s attorney claimed that Baur was “worried sick” about her missing son. However, her request for bond reduction was denied, and her preliminary hearing, as well as Vang’s, was rescheduled for March 14.

Baur and Vang, of Wisconsin Dells and Two Rivers respectively, are both facing charges related to child neglect. Baur is held on a $15,000 cash bond, while Vang is held on a $20,000 cash bond.

The criminal complaint states that Baur left her son with Vang to teach him “to be a man,” planning to reclaim him on Feb. 23. However, Vang reported Elijah missing on Feb. 20, claiming that the boy disappeared after he had taken a nap.
