The Supreme Council of Justice has decided to reopen the disciplinary case against Judge Oleksiy Tandyr, who is accused of causing a fatal traffic accident at a roadblock. Tandyr, who was allegedly intoxicated and speeding at the time of the accident, is accused of running over a 23-year-old National Guardsman at a checkpoint in Kyiv, leading to the latter’s death. Investigations confirmed that Tandyr was drunk driving at the time of the accident. The Council gave consent to keep Tandyr in custody without the possibility of bail, and he has since been dismissed from the head of court position and suspended by the Supreme Council of Justice.
