SEPTA riders can now use a single SEPTA Key card to pay for up to five people travelling together. The feature, available on buses, trolleys, subways, Regional Rail trains, and the Norristown High Speed Line, requires travelers to tap their Key card on the validator for each rider. The multi-rider feature can be activated by turning on the autoload function on the Travel Wallets, which replenishes the account when it falls below a certain threshold. This feature must be enabled before starting a multi-rider trip and the Travel Wallet must have a balance equal to the minimum amount required for each rider. Standard fare rules, including the two-transfer limit, still apply to each rider.
