San Diego appoints public affairs expert Sid Voorakkara to Board of Port Commissioners

Sid Voorakkara, a government and public affairs expert, has been unanimously appointed to the Port of San Diego’s seven-member Board of Port Commissioners by the San Diego City Council. Voorakkara replaces Rafael Castellanos and aims to create more opportunities for women and minority-owned small businesses. The San Diego Unified Port District spans 34 miles of coastline and includes five member cities. The Board of Port Commissioners is responsible for managing the tidelands on behalf of all Californians, setting district policy, enacting laws, and overseeing top executives. Voorakkara, a senior partner with ArroyoWest LCC, has a history of local and state government involvement.
