Pursuit comes to fiery end after driver ditches stolen big rig near Rancho Cucamonga – NBC Los Angeles
An hour-long police chase of a stolen big rig ended in flames when the vehicle’s front tires were blown out by a spike strip deployed by the California Highway Patrol. The truck was stolen from a gas station in Bakersfield, but it’s unclear what it was carrying. The vehicle eventually caught fire in Rancho Cucamonga, and the driver fled on foot into a residential area before being apprehended at an apartment complex.
