Philly distributes banned books as part of Black History Month

This article reveals a rise in book banning in American schools, with 30% of the banned titles dealing with race and racism or featuring characters of color. PEN America, a group monitoring these efforts, discovered this trend. To counteract this and promote more books by Black authors and about Black history, Visit Philadelphia has initiated the Little Free(dom) Library project. This initiative will stock 13 miniature libraries with 1,500 books, highlighting 12 specific titles. These books will be available across Philadelphia at popular locations, also spotlighting Black-owned businesses in the vicinity.
