Orban said that the parliament will consider Sweden’s accession to NATO “at the beginning of the spring session”
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated that Hungary’s parliament would ratify Sweden’s entry into NATO at the start of the spring session. He mentioned that the disagreement between Budapest and Stockholm is nearing its resolution. In early February, Orbán’s Fidesz party deputies insisted that the Swedish Prime Minister should visit Budapest before voting on the protocol on Sweden’s entry to NATO. The Hungarian parliament will resume on February 26. Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Björström anticipates the completion of the ratification process in Hungary in the near future.
