Mixed-Use Development Moves Forward – Beverly Hills Courier

The Beverly Hills Planning Commission has approved an eight-story mixed-use project called Wilshire Flats, featuring 56 residential units, retail space, and a rooftop pool. The development will replace a vacant medical office building on a 20,665-square-foot lot located at 9229 Wilshire Boulevard. This approval comes as the city faces state pressure to increase its housing stock, with a particular focus on affordable housing. State laws are compelling the city to approve projects that provide affordable housing, even if they bypass local zoning rules. The project is now set to go before the city’s Architectural Commission.
