Lincoln-Way East’s senior guard, Lilly Dockemeyer, contributed to her team’s victory over Sandburg with two early 3-pointers in a Class 4A Joliet West Sectional semifinal, setting the Griffins up for a 60-39 win. Senior forward Lana Kerley led all scorers with 17 points. Dockemeyer, who finished with six points, is known for her confident shooting strategy and leadership skills. She began playing basketball in fourth grade and has since developed her skills through extra practice and stints with three club programs. Dockemeyer plans to continue her basketball career at Olivet Nazarene and appreciates their unconventional “five in, five out” style of play.
