Katherine Hui, the reigning US Open Girls’ Singles Champion, has been granted a Wild Card into the upcoming Cymbiotika San Diego Open WTA 500, offering $922,573 in prize money. This will be Hui’s second appearance in the San Diego Open. The 19-year old, currently studying at Stanford University, previously reached the singles final of the USTA Billie Jean King Girls’ 18s National Championships in 2023. Hui captured the 2023 US Open girls’ singles title without losing a set, defeating Tereza Valentova of the Czech Republic. The tournament, featuring top women tennis professionals, is set for Saturday, Feb. 24 through Sunday, March 3 at the Barnes Tennis Center.
