A study by Forbes Advisor reveals that six of California’s largest cities, often associated with hazardous driving, are actually home to some of the nation’s best drivers. San Francisco, Oakland, San Diego, San Jose, Los Angeles, and Long Beach all ranked in the top 20 for best drivers. The study determined the rankings by evaluating five factors for each city: total fatal crashes, fatal crashes involving drunk, distracted, or speeding drivers, and the number of people killed in fatal crashes, all standardized per 100,000 city residents. On the other hand, Fresno and Bakersfield were the California cities that ranked poorly, with the 22nd and 25th worst drivers, respectively. The worst drivers, according to the study, are in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
