Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were involved in a standoff with an armed potentially suicidal man near St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood. The situation began on Saturday evening and continued into Sunday morning. The deputies initially responded to a medical emergency call at 9:53 p.m. Crisis negotiation teams were dispatched, and the man was taken into custody several blocks away from the hospital on Imperial Highway by 7:15 a.m. There were no injuries reported among civilians or deputies.
