Campbell plans affordable apartments at VTA station

Campbell is set to build nearly 100 affordable homes on a site leased from the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) off Winchester Boulevard. The 1.6-acre project will transform a parking lot at the Winchester light rail station into 90 affordable apartments for residents earning 60% or less of Santa Clara County’s median income. At least 23 of the apartments will be permanent supportive housing for homeless individuals. The project, funded with $5.1 million from Measure A, is set to break ground in 2025 and is being developed by nonprofit People Assisting the Homeless (PATH) Ventures and Related California. The development is part of a series of VTA affordable housing leases, and the fourth such project in the past nine months.
