The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County increased slightly to $4.693 after a 21-day streak of continuous increases came to a halt. The current price is more than last week, last month, and last year, according to the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. Doug Shupe of the Automobile Club of Southern California suggests that the price increase is due to planned and unplanned maintenance at Southern California refineries that creates supply uncertainty. Meanwhile, the national average price for a gallon of gasoline slightly decreased to $3.279, higher than a week and a month ago but lower than a year ago. The national average price has fallen since reaching a record high in June 2022.
