Sweden will transfer about $5 million to the NATO fund for assistance to Ukraine

Sweden will contribute 50 million Swedish crowns (approximately $5 million) to NATO’s aid fund for Ukraine, earmarked for purchasing defense equipment, fuel, medical, demining equipment and other military supplies. The Swedish government will also allocate 5 million Swedish crowns each to Moldova and Georgia to support various projects including crisis management, cyber security, intelligence sharing, secure communication channels and equipment purchase, training, and reform support. This follows a recent move by Japan, whose Foreign Affairs Minister announced an allocation of $37 million to Ukraine for the purchase of drone detection systems.
