The head of Khmelnytskyi regional prosecutor’s office, Oleksiy Oliynyk, has resigned after an investigation began into his and his colleagues’ alleged fraudulent disability claims. It was revealed that 51 prosecutors from Khmelnytskyi regional prosecutor’s office have disabilities. Oleksiy Oliynyk and his wife Irina Oliynyk received 2.5 million UAH from the Pension Fund. A report from journalist Yuriy Butusov suggests that prosecutors obtained these disability statuses not for the money, but for the job benefits they bring. The General Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the investigation into the disability claims by Khmelnytskyi region prosecutors is ongoing.
