TL/DR –

A new Politico-Morning Consult poll reveals that many voters are unfamiliar with President Biden’s major domestic spending initiatives. The poll asked about four major policies: the 2021 American Rescue Plan, the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law, the 2022 CHIPS and Science Act, and the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, finding that a significant percentage of voters had heard nothing about these laws. The poll, which was conducted April 27-28 and included 1,974 registered voters, suggests Biden faces a messaging challenge to convey his accomplishments to voters.

New Poll Reveals Unfamiliarity with Biden’s Domestic Spending Initiatives

A recent poll has revealed that voters are largely unfamiliar with President Biden’s domestic spending initiatives. A significant number of respondents reported having no knowledge about several significant pieces of legislation passed under his administration.

In the Politico-Morning Consult poll, voters were questioned on their familiarity with four significant domestic policy laws: the 2021 American Rescue Plan, 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, 2022 CHIPS and Science Act, and the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act.

The results showed a significant lack of awareness: 34% of voters knew nothing about the American Rescue Plan, 30% for the Infrastructure Law, and 44% for the CHIPS and Science Act. Regarding the Inflation Reduction Act, 24% of respondents reported having no knowledge.

Only a slim margin of respondents reported being highly familiar with the laws. This included 11% for the American Rescue Plan, 14% for the Infrastructure Law, 9% for the CHIPS and Science Act, and 17% for the Inflation Reduction Act.

These findings come six months before the Election Day, unveiling a significant messaging challenge for Biden to effectively communicate his accomplishments to voters. Current polls show a tight race between President Biden and former President Trump, as per The Hill/ Decision Desk HQ’s latest average of polls.

The Politico-Morning Consult poll, conducted on April 27-28, involved 1,974 registered voters and has a 2% margin of error.
