Dallas, Texas road conditions: Will they get icy? When? How bad?

7

An arctic front has arrived in North Texas, leading to a mix of freezing rain and sleet that is expected to affect driving conditions for the first half of the week. The WFAA weather team predicts light wintry conditions with less than 0.1 inch of ice and less than a quarter inch of a sleet-snow combination expected in DFW. The impact of the sleet-snow mix could be higher in northeastern North Texas, while southeastern North Texas is expected to witness more freezing rain and ice. While precipitation levels will be low, it will likely stick, possibly resulting in slick road conditions. Crews have been treating roads with brine to help reduce the chance of ice forming.
