MANCHESTER, N.H. — Incoming heavy rain and tropical downpours are expected to cause additional flash flooding in parts of New Hampshire through Monday. A Flood Watch has been issued for much of interior New Hampshire until 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, including areas that were severely impacted by flooding in Cheshire county on Sunday.

Widespread flooding of small rivers, streams, and creeks, as well as road flooding, is anticipated in some towns along and near the Connecticut River. More bands of downpours and thunderstorms are forecasted to move across New Hampshire in the coming hours.

Some areas could receive over 6 inches of rain by Monday evening. As a precaution, drivers are advised to turn around and seek alternate routes if they encounter flooded roadways.

To stay informed and prepared, it is recommended to download the WMUR app for Apple or Android devices and enable push notifications. Users can choose to receive weather alerts for their geolocation and up to three ZIP codes. Additionally, the app provides updates when precipitation is approaching the area.

For further updates and information, follow the Storm Watch 9 team on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. The team includes meteorologists Mike Haddad, Kevin Skarupa, Hayley LaPoint, Jacqueline Thomas, and Matt Hoenig.

Stay safe and stay informed during this period of heavy rain and potential flash flooding.
