Representatives of the ombudsman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (VRU) on human rights visited the city’s Territorial Social Service Center. The representatives, who have the functions of controlling adherence to legal rights and interests of citizens in the activities of executive bodies and officials, examined the living conditions, food organization, and the level of domestic and medical care provided to the center’s residents. The center houses 14 individuals who are elderly, have partial loss of mobility and require external help. During the visit, the representatives noticed shortcomings related to the violation of the rights of people with disabilities and low-mobility groups to a barrier-free environment and suggested improvements.
