The day of the Ilovaisk tragedy, during which Russians violated an agreement and shot at a “green corridor” through which Ukrainian soldiers were leaving a siege, has been commemorated as a day of memory for all fallen Ukrainian defenders. On the decade anniversary of the tragedy, a ceremony was held in Khmelnytskyi where local authorities, state institutions, public utilities, and representatives of civil society laid flowers at the stela on Independence Square and the monument to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. Additionally, “Ukrposhta” released a special stamp “Minute of Silence” to commemorate this memorial day. The stamp, designed by Donetsk artist Serhiy Maidukov and featuring a poem by contemporary poet Lina Kostenko, will be available for purchase at all Ukrposhta branches with part of the proceeds going to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
