The primary goal of the Medical Rehabilitation Department of the Khmelnitsky City Hospital is to aid in the rehabilitation of individuals who have suffered strokes, injuries, traumas, and chronic diseases. The department has been in operation for two years, during which it has grown a team of professionals providing necessary help, including doctors, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. The department currently assists 30 patients, teaching them to regain physical functionality, learn to live within the limitations of their conditions, and reintegrate into society. They also work on restoring speech, a process that can take from 5 to 9 years with constant practice, highlighting the laborious nature of medical rehabilitation.
