Hopeful Viewers Of Eagle Nest’s Hatch Cam Get Bittersweet Update


A popular livestream of bald eagle mates Jackie and Shadow at Big Bear Lake in California has attracted tens of thousands of viewers. Jackie laid three eggs in January, which were expected to hatch in early March but have yet to do so. The Friends of Big Bear Valley, a nonprofit that operates the nest camera, has stated it is now “unlikely for them to hatch”. Despite this, the pair are still nurturing their eggs and each other. Jackie, 12, and Shadow, 10, have previously hatched three eaglets together, with two surviving long enough to leave the nest.
