Spencer Dinwiddie has signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, following his trade by the Brooklyn Nets and subsequent waiver by Toronto. The point guard, originally from Los Angeles, has started 48 games this season, averaging 12.6 points and 6.0 assists. Rob Pelinka, Lakers general manager, stated that Dinwiddie’s play-making and aggressiveness as a guard offer valuable depth for the rest of the season. Prior to his time with the Nets, Dinwiddie played for Dallas as part of the Kyrie Irving trade package. The Lakers were unable to make any trades before the deadline but secured Dinwiddie quickly in the buyout market.
