Seven People Arrested During DUI Checkpoint in Palm Desert

Seven individuals were arrested during a DUI checkpoint in Palm Desert, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. The arrests took place near the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and Portola Avenue and included charges for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol combined, and driving with a suspended license. During the checkpoint, 1,075 vehicles were stopped and 32 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a license. The initiative was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, via the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
