Scottsdale-raised Emma Stone wins BAFTA for ‘Poor Things’

The 77th British Academy Film Awards has concluded with “Oppenheimer” winning seven prizes, including best picture, director and actor. Irish actor Cillian Murphy, who portrayed physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer in the film, received the best actor award. “Poor Things” and “The Zone of Interest” also won five and three awards respectively. Among other winners, Emma Stone received the best actress award for her role in “Poor Things”, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph was named best supporting actress for her role in “The Holdovers”. The Ukraine war documentary “20 Days in Mariupol” won the best documentary prize.
