Kevin Pillar, a former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder, is now at Chicago White Sox camp as a nonroster invitee. Aged 35, Pillar is looking to secure a position in outfield and has previous experience with multiple teams, including the Blue Jays, San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox, Colorado Rockies, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Atlanta Braves. As per manager Pedro Grifol, Pillar’s leadership, energy, and championship mentality make him a valuable addition to the team. The Sox also claimed outfielder Peyton Burdick off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. Another Sox player, reliever John Brebbia, is currently recuperating from a right calf strain, but is expected to be ready for the season.
