Lucas Glover withdraws from WM Open after missing tee time

Lucas Glover, the 2009 U.S. Open champion, was forced to withdraw from the WM Phoenix Open after missing his tee time. Glover was still in his hotel room when officials called him as he had misread the text messages that listed his tee time. The Official Rules of Golf stipulate that players must tee off at the exact stipulated moment, not earlier, not later, with teeing off any later than five minutes resulting in disqualification. His withdrawal from the event made way for Ryo Hisatsune, the first alternate. Glover has seen a recent resurgence in his career, having won the Wyndham Championship and FedEx St. Jude Championship in consecutive weeks.
