The comments were in response to insinuations by Special Counsel Robert Hur that the President could not recall when his eldest son died. Mrs. Biden stated in an email to campaign donors that such a loss was measured in grief rather than years. Hur’s report concluded that the President should not face charges for retaining classified documents after leaving office, and mentioned his age and memory as potential defenses. In response, Mrs. Biden highlighted her husband’s wisdom, empathy, and vision, and suggested his age and experience were assets.
