Harris County Sheriff’s Office release video after woman shot inside Cloverleaf area apt. when deputies mistook her for intruder
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Texas has released body camera footage one week after deputies mistakenly shot a woman they believed was an intruder. The deputies were responding to a reported break-in at the Pines of Woodforest Apartments. The woman, 28-year-old Eboni Pouncy, was shot multiple times after deputies saw her approaching the door with a gun. It turned out that Pouncy lived in the apartment with her girlfriend and had broken the window herself after forgetting her keys. An independent investigation is being conducted by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and the case is being referred to a grand jury. Pouncy has retained civil rights attorney Ben Crump to explore legal action.
