Flash Flood Warning Issued for Parts of LA County

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for parts of Los Angeles County, including Malibu, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and Burbank, which is in effect until Wednesday 9 a.m. with the possibility of landslides. Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu is closed in both directions due to mud and rock slides. The storm, which has caused flooding and mudslides, is expected to linger over Los Angeles County into Wednesday, with the possibility of heavy showers and thunderstorms overnight. A flood watch will remain in effect until Wednesday 10 a.m., affecting the entirety of Los Angeles County except the Antelope Valley. Los Angeles County Public Works officials have issued a “phase 2 debris flow forecast” for the Land Fire burn area east of Sun Valley, which will be in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday.
